Oriental Interest Berhad (“OIB” or “the Company”) was incorporated in Malaysia on 3 August 1993 under the Companies Act 1965 as a private limited company under the name of Oriental Interest Sdn. Bhd.. The Company was converted to a public limited company on 22 December 1993 and assumed its present name prior to its listing on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad) on 18 October 1994.
The principal activities undertaken by the Company are investment holding and the provision of management services. The operations of OIB and its 20 subsidiaries (“the Group”) are conducted through its 20 subsidiaries, which are principally engaged in a broad spectrum of activities, contributing to key sectors of the Malaysian economy, including: property development and general construction (residential, industrial, retail and commercial), investment holding, hospitality operations and oil palm cultivation. This diversification remains a core strength, ensuring resilience and balanced growth across the Group.
